Emily's Spring boho wedding in the prettiest 1940s vintage dress

Dear Reader,
Who doesn't love a Spring wedding? The first glimpses of sunnier days, longer evenings and early Spring flowers are such simple pleasures.
Simply boho, Emily in the prettiest 1940s wedding dress
And perhaps the very best Spring weddings are the ones that keep it simple (and it surely helps that Spring weddings don't need to be expensive!) Here, showing us how to do it SO beautifully, is one of my favourite real vintage brides, Emily...
Emily's 1930s / 1940s wedding dress with its pretty Peter Pan collar.
In her pretty late 1930s / early 1940s vintage wedding dress, complete with adorable Peter Pan collar, gorgeous pixie crop and bright flower headpiece, Emily is a picture of charm and happiness.
Vintage wedding dresses are perfect for a simple Spring wedding.
In Emily's words…
"A big thank you for all your help in finding and creating such a beautiful wedding dress for me! We had a fantastic day in April, and I got lots of compliments on my stunning and unusual dress."
Spring flowers for a chic and boho look.
"I'd recommend Heavenly Vintage Brides to anyone looking for a vintage wedding dress."
She and Peter let their simple, fuss–free style speak for itself. With just a few brighter–than–bright paper pompoms for decor, echoing the colours of the flowers.

Here's Emily's words of wisdom, on how they made their day so special
"My advice would be to not get too worked up about it all. Easier said than done, I know! There's a lot of pressure on couples, and especially women, to make the perfect day and for everything to somehow represent you both as a couple. Not everything has to mean something, you’ll probably make some random decisions because you don’t want to devote your whole life to organising a wedding. The most important thing is that you are marrying the person that you love, and that you’re committed to the marriage ahead."
I was delighted to come across Emily and Peter's wedding featured on Boho Weddings recently, a great blog with lots of advice about planning a boho or vintage wedding. If you'd like to see more, you can check it out here.
Thanks too, to Benjamin Mathers for his wonderful photography.

A 1930s style lace wedding dress, for Vintage Bride Amy.

Dear Reader,
A mini takeover from fabulous vintage bride Amy today. For her Autumn wedding, Amy wore 'Butterfly' – a romantic 1930s style lace wedding dress from my Heavenly Collection.
Full length veils are so pretty with 1930s style wedding dresses.

Amy's Butterfly dress is made in the prettiest beaded lace. The lace itself is a soft and delicate off–white. And the beads are matched perfectly. So the effect is the subtlest shimmer of texture – like sunlight on snow. This romantic and charming dress was just right for beautiful bride Amy, a real English Rose.
Amy wears Butterfly, a 1930s style wedding dress in sumptuous beaded lace.

Amy has some great words of advice to share on her day...
What went well…? The most important thing for us when we started planning our wedding was to plan a wedding day that was fun and laid back, and to make sure that everyone was fed and watered well. The day turned out exactly how we imagined with only a couple of tiny bumps along the way.
Amy, radiant in 1930s inspired lace wedding dress and veil.
What didn't go well…! We wished we'd done a more detailed plan of the day and communicated this with everyone involved, as at some points the day felt a little unorganised. However, this sort of added to the charm!
A gorgeous view from behind.
The best thing about my dress…? I loved wearing my beautiful dress – and so many people complimented me on how different it was.
1930s dresses are so romantic!
The best thing about the day…? We had such a lovely day, I just wish I could do it all over again! The best thing was being surrounded by all our favourite people, and seeing all our hard work over the past year pay off.
So stylish!
And our most important advice…? It's very hard but try not to get too hung up on the little details as you then start to lose track of why you're doing it in the first place. At the end of the day, your guests are only there to see you!
                    Amy x :)
Thanks so much for your tips, Amy – you look amazing!
And for any readers who love this dress, check out my Etsy store. I have some beautiful 1930s dresses available at the moment.

Do ALL brides love lace wedding dresses…?

Dear Reader,
Every bride loves lace. Well, at least that's how it seems
'Angel' lace wedding dress is always one of the most popular in my vintage style collection.
Lace makes a beautiful background for vintage accessories.
Sometimes girls visit my West London studio with a particular style of vintage wedding dresses in mind. Other times, they love the romance and charm of vintage, without any favourite era...
Exquisite original Nottingham lace makes my 1930s style Angel dress really special.
Or perhaps they've been drawn in after seeing their favourite model or movie star choose a vintage wedding dress. But just about always, when girls see the rails of beautiful vintage wedding dresses in my studio, it's the lace dresses they will first pick out.
What else has the romance of lace wedding dresses?
Whether it's frothy and pretty 1950s style lace wedding dresses, or a more slinky 30s style, vintage and lace seem to go hand in hand.
Elegant and delicate, yet still simple… Angel in 1930s lace.
And undoubtedly, Angel is one of the most popular of all. This delicate and elegant 1930s style wedding dress from my Heavenly Collection is made of the finest quality lace, still made in the traditional way – and to their original 1930s design – by one of England's oldest lace-making companies.
Soft and flattering, lace wedding dresses are beautiful on all skin types.
Angel is available in this beautiful lace, and in a range of other exquisite fabrics priced from £995. Why not contact me to find out more, or to come and admire it for yourself…?
Angel 1930s-inspired lace wedding dress – come and see it soon!
What do you think? Do you love lace too?

1930s–style lace wedding dress 'Angel' for Vintage Bride of the Week, Rosemary.

Dear Reader,
I have another gorgeous vintage bride to show you today. Meet Rosemary...

Ros looking to camera, and mid-section of vintage lace wedding dress
For her summer wedding, Rosemary wore 'Angel', the 1930s–inspired lace wedding dress from my Heavenly Collection.

With its flutter sleeves and deep v back, Angel is such a romantic dress. It perfectly suited Rosemary's graceful beauty. And we made it in a very special lace too...

This time we used the 'English net' style of lace – so pretty with its delicate trellises of flowers and bows. And as with most of our laces, it's an original 1930s design. It is remade exclusively for my Heavenly Collection, by its original Nottingham fine lace–makers.

Ros and her lovely mother Alison were a delight to work with – a charming and very stylish family. I loved the combination of jewel tones they chose for the bridesmaids' dresses, and for both Ros' and groom Vivek's families.

And now I'll let the pictures of Rosemary and Vivek's brilliant day speak for themselves...
